A FUE hair transplant is a minimally invasive procedure that uses the latest in transplantation techniques to restore a fuller, natural hairline, using your own hair. The surgeon will individually extract the hair follicles from a donor area (usually from the back of the head) and transplant them to the thinning or balding area of the scalp.
Benefits, Who is a good Candidate, Process
If you are losing hair, have a receding hairline and/or bald spots, and have donor hair, you are a good candidate for an FUE Transplant.
Our surgeons use sapphire blades due to their sharpness, smoothness, and anti-microbial properties that prevent infections. These blades enable precise incisions that are much smaller than steel blades.
The procedure involves infusing regenerative cells from the patient’s blood into the FUE donor site, fostering rapid healing and hair growth. Follicular units are placed in a growth factor-rich medium to improve outcomes. Enriched cells are then injected into the transplanted area, stimulating quicker healing and hair growth, as well as increased density of the hair
We assess and recommend the best method of transplantation to the patient.
Our surgeon will meet the patient either in person or remotely (initially). After assessing the actual condition of the patient, he will discuss the viability, the donor area, the number of grafts likely to be extracted, risks of the procedure and what to expect post-operatively.
Specialized advanced surgical tools are used to carefully extract the grafts from the donor area. These tools create micro incisions, much smaller than those created by traditional tools. This results in minimal scab formation and enhanced recovery times.
Once the grafts are extracted they are preserved in a special sterile plasma solution to keep them viable and clean. The follicular units are then carefully placed in the medical refrigerator until the next step.
Once it is confirmed that the required number of grafts have been extracted from the donor site, the implantation begins. Local anesthesia is used to numb the area and reduce pain or discomfort before the follicular unit is transplanted to the balding area.
The patient will be given written instructions and the required medication to take home. The instructions tell the patient in detail what needs to be done and what to expect over the coming days and weeks.
